Romantic Gold Weddings in Edmonton from Buffy Goodman

This week’s first real wedding is an absolute stunner and inspired by the beauty of Paris where Grant proposed to Christy. Captured by the talented Buffy Goodman, Christy & Grant’s wedding at The Oasis Centre is absolutely chic, luxurious and just full of gold details. Literally no detail was left unnoticed. You’ll love it!

Says Buffy: Christy and Grant’s wedding was classic, romantic, opulent, and elegant – no detail was overlooked. We fought against rain and threatening stormclouds all day taking photos. It drizzled very slightly during the outdoor ceremony, just for a minute or two, and during the kiss, which made it that much more romantic. And despite the rain during the evening, there were fireworks – a great finish to a perfectly fabulous day!

Bridesmaids wore black cocktail dresses from Banana Republic so they could wear them again. The dresses were paired with feather belts from Bridal Debut and their pearl & swarovski crystal bracelets were made by Christy.

Guest favours were one of two VOLUSPA candles from Swish Flowers (Makassar Ebony and Peach & Fleurs De Fete), ones that the bride always has in her home!

 What was your decor inspiration?

I started to plan this wedding 1 and a 1/2 ago, we got engaged in Paris (unreal romantic) when my husband was playing hockey in Europe. So my theme for the whole wedding was Romance, Elegance, Soft, Feminine… slightly Roman with all of the gold features and soft lighting.

And to finish an amazing day…fireworks!

Favorite Wedding Moment: It is so hard to pinpoint my favorite moment, there were so many….. The moment I saw the room and all the hard work from so many people come together was for sure An AMAZING moment…. and one i will never forget.

Grant and I opted to see each other before the wedding ceremony. We went down to a beautiful golf course Blackhawk Golf Club just west of Edmonton. It was just the two of us and our photographer Buffy Goodman. It was so perfect! The location was right out of a fairytale completely surrounded by trees it was slightly overcast so it was the perfect day for pictures. We had that moment all to ourselves and didn’t have to share it with our 175 guests :) Then we met up with our wedding parties and had 2 hours before the wedding to really enjoy the day with our favorite people!
